(Pre-Order) Bandai RG 1/144 RX-79[G] Ground Gundam Type

(Pre-Order) Bandai RG 1/144 RX-79[G] Ground Gundam Type

The rugged mobile suit of Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team finally joins Bandai’s Real Grade lineup with the RG 1/144 RX-79[G] Ground Gundam Type.

Designed specifically for terrestrial combat during the One Year War, the Ground Gundam trades the cleaner appearance of the RX-78 series for a heavier, military-inspired design built around practical battlefield deployment. The RG release recreates that distinctive look with newly designed armor and frame components, adding the dense mechanical detailing and layered construction associated with the Real Grade line.

Special attention has been placed on the articulation of the waist and leg frame, allowing the Ground Gundam to reproduce low-profile combat poses such as kneeling firing positions seen throughout The 08th MS Team. Its substantial ground-combat equipment also makes it ideal for military-style Gundam displays and dioramas.

• Based on the RX-79[G] Gundam Ground Type from Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team

The RX-79[G] has always stood apart from traditional Gundam designs with its practical, mass-produced military aesthetic. In Real Grade form, that battlefield character is given a significantly more detailed and mechanically complex presentation while retaining the unmistakable silhouette of one of the Universal Century’s most iconic ground-combat mobile suits.
